A Grade II Listed St Johns Wood villa, nestled within a mature garden setting.
The existing architecture is rich with historic detail and forms the foundation for a carefully considered transformation—one that respects its past while adapting the building for contemporary living.
The proposals include a comprehensive restoration, and remodel, plus a two-storey side extension and extensive landscape works; designed to enrich the villa’s inherent historic character while creating a gentle flow between living spaces; strengthening visual and physical connections between different levels and the garden beyond.
A restrained palette of neutral and organic materials reinforces the relationship between house and landscape, fostering a calm and restorative atmosphere. New joinery elements, fittings, and a folded metal stair are precisely detailed to articulate a clear distinction between old and new fabric—contemporary yet deferential. Throughout, the design balances historic and modern, ordered and organic, resulting in a refined and quietly confident home. The project is under construction and is due for completion in Q1 2026.
